    Pray for Indonesia

We would like to ask our brothers and sisters to pray for those in Indonesia that have been hit by another massive disaster. A major earthquake has resulted in the deaths of over 3,500 4,300 5,400 people so far. Many of these people may have perished without the eternal salvation of Jesus Christ. Indonesia, a country of over 245 million estimated to be 88% Muslim, and has the largest Muslim population of any country in the world.

In your quiet moments and in your churches, please pray for the families who have lost homes and loved ones and for God to provide for them. Pray for lost souls to find the Love That Heals All Pain. Pray for the Church in Indonesia, that it would strengthen and grow. Pray for our missionaries in the region, that they may be given opportunities to minister, and that God would give them strength and protection as they seek to serve Him.

I just wanted to say thank you for posts like this. You can read blog after blog about the issues in the SBC and it appears as though the most important thing in the world is the problems one denomination is having internally. Meanwhile, thousands of lost people are dying every minute without Christ. And, here in the U.S. people are so desperate and alone that they do things that seem unthinkable (but for the grace of God there go I). Have you seen the story about the father throwing his children out the window of 15 stories in South Beach and then jumping himself, all the while his wife was in the other room? They were celebrating their 10th anniversary from Illinois. Given all the "Christians" blogging over allegations and whether baptism is appropriate, i do have to wonder if any of us might have had an impact on any of those lives if we had been doing something else?? I don't know and perhaps not, but are we keeping the main thing the main thing?? The story about the suicidal and homicidal father can be found at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,197283,00.html
