Our blog is worth more than you got! How much is your blog worth?
The sad thing is Carter and Clinton were both SBC and we see how much they helped faith based groups.
True, but Clinton joined the Baptist church out of political expedience and Carter was a liberal CBFer. They weren't very represenative of the denomination.
I would sure like to see some more folk bloggin on this issue of faith and voting. Hopefully, you have sparked some interest in a few folk.
As I said on a previous blog, I foresee a President Romney as greatly aiding in Mormon door to door evanglism.Picture the scene: a family has been thinking about going to a Christian church, and they hear that this nice new conservative president is a Mormon. Just then, two nice-looking young men on bicycles ride up and knock on the door. The wife of the house looks out and thinks, "Oh, they're from the same church as the president. I've been wondering about that church. I think I'll let them in."And thus President Romney opens the doors for the bicycle-peddlers of a false gospel.
Kevin,It amazes me how people can continue to bash Carter who has done more as an ex president than anyone. He continues to live a life of active caring and work for the downtrodden in our country and abroad. For the record CBF did not exist when he was president. It was in affect created by the SBC's attacks on moderates. Carter is a good moderate mainstream Baptist. I'd say it is hypocritical to continue to attack him. With the work he has done to eliminate disease in Africa and to provide housing for Americans he will be an example for all time. Why do you want to tear down someone with his obvious devotion to service? Just can't stand to give any credit to the other side? If you believe what you say you are uninformed. Or is it just more of the same old SBC rhetoric. The last moans of a dying denomination? He has put his faith into action and many have followed his lead. Get over it. If the SBC took all the churches off the role that support CBF they would not be the largest Baptist denomination anymore. My church is counted by SBC and the minister himself says we aren't SBC anymore. Well BGCT & CBF are fine with me.How has Bush helped faith based groups? Money? Is that what it is all about?
