If one were to try to call SWBTS professor Tim Pierce, one would hear on his voicemail message that he is out of the country until 2007.
We have heard from some on campus that the Emperor… sorry, Dr. Patterson has forced him out, which is strange because Dr. Pierce is an elected faculty member. No, this does not mean he is a Calvinist, but it does mean he cannot be fired without an action from the SWBTS Board of Trustees.
So, did Patterson put him on a forced sabbatical with the intention to fire him at the end of his time away from Campus? If so Patterson has violated the seminary’s bylaws.

Is Patterson a spiritual fascist working for the Dark Side? Is he a fundamentalist cross-dresser? I think we should be told.
We say neither, he someone who has gone too long without being challenged. When he is right about something, we will praise him and when he is wrong, we will give our opinion.
This is the first I've heard. I will give Dr. P the benefit of the doubt until I hear more. Where can we find more info about this?
I agree with Kevin that there should be no rush to judgement. But I have met Dr. Pierce at some professional meetings and he represented SWBTS and Southern Baptists well. He has a wife and three children. We would do well to keep them in our prayers. If your sources are correct, this is an extremely difficult time for them.
Dr. Pierce's tenure got revoked last spring and this summer, 09, is his last session teaching at SWBTS. He will surely be missed by all who faithfully attended his classes.
